INFO: This film is very rare in it's VHS format, it was released in 1986 and is very hard to come by at the moment. It has 30 mins of extra footage including the origins of how the first face hugger gets into the civilians camp. We here at M_A managed to find three copies at a total cost of fifty quid, but in London it has been seen at the hefty price of eighty five smackers. If you find a copy hang on to it tight, very tight... REVIEW: This movie is THEE alien orientated sci-fi film and a inspiration for millions of copy cat film makers. It really is the pinacle of the science fiction genre, it blends the pant wetting suspense of it's prequel (ALIEN) with the raw gun toting energy of many a classic war film(PLATOON). Weaver (Ripley) jump's back in the saddle as the first and most famous female action hero, she plays the part well compared to the some what false and hollow acting abilities of some of the cast. This version the Special Editon has the extra scenes are seemlessly blended into the original cut, making the plot more complete and gives more insight into the storyline. High points of the movie include: - Scene where Drake nearly kills Newt by shooting her with the huge cannon - Scene where Newt gets snatched by large black alien dude _ Drop ship decent scene and view over living complex - any scene where Newt nearly gets killed - Final action scene where Bishop (Hendrickson) gets ripped in half and Weaver has a scrap with the queen alien whilst operating a large robot thingy This film is so good we at M_A buy every Special edition copy we find, although it is out on DVD with all scenes included, and even more scenes added to the original ALIEN, but that's Ok cos' we have DVD players as well. If you haven't seen this film you must be sad and living in you own anus so get out, get it, watch it and be amazed... | |||||||||||||||||||||||
